no choice, they only sell these over here, CB ones will have to wait for my mate to bring them back from the States for me, got it from the shop in Singapore

no brand, plain white box, but i think the spindles came from the States as there is a chop on the bottom of the box that says made in USA or something.. has code number AC something....maybe AC Industries

there is of course made in china on the plastic bag

1. how do i tell if they are forged or cast?

some pics of the chinese made BJ disc brake dropped spindle i got compares to a stock german BJ drum spindle

Hey Pupjoint,

I can't prove this, but those look exactly like EMPI dropped spindles. I used an EMPI dropped spindle/disc brake kit and they worked great. They may be some other brand, but they are a dead-ringer for the ones I have.

Many years ago when it was still UnAmerican to buy foreign made products, the Japanese came up with a solution. They named one of their big manufacturing cities Usa, Japan.

Then the products that came from there were marked MADE IN USA.

My guess is these are made in China, but maybe the box was made in the USA.

1) Take an emergency collision-avoidance trip down an embankment at 60 mph.

2) Count the number of chinese pieces under the car.

What? Laughing

no choice dude, my mate's family from Texas will only be here in Kuala Lumpur for Christmas. They usually bring small items for me, not sure if they are willing to bring in spindles.

singapore is my best bet here.

I wouldn't sweat it Brother. Don't lose sight of the reality of the situation here. We're talking about an 1800-pound car. No engine/weight up front. Cast, forged, or paper mache' you're going to be alright. We all lose sight at times of physics (constant) in favor of what's cool and has the best reputation by name. You have an adequate spindle there. Go with it and have fun.

I agree with this. It's a f***ing spindle, dude. Who cares if it's cast or forged? Can anyone see your spindles while you're out and about? Does anyone really care if they're cast or forged? I have forged ones, but noone has EVER asked me about them before. They usually just ask if they're dropped spindles or not. From the pics, they look decent and correct so run em'. Sometimes in life, you just gotta say f**k it.
