Hey all,

Just an update on the bus...

I picked it up from the docks in Sydney a couple of days ago.
Got a panel guy coming to have a look at it next week, to run his hand over it, and paint will soon follow.

Nearly got all the bits for it now, as you might appreciate there are a whole lot of "bits" for a bus like this..

Very nice.

How did you go getting it past the Australian customs with the new import laws?

No dramas, they're really only worried about hotrods, limo's, and kit cars (like the 356 replicas etc.)

Even though my body is modified, it could have been how it came from the factory for all they know...

Great news. So they're not worried about the Fuchs, big engine and altered suspension then?! Cool

Yeah Bubba, though I would wait until I had something to add worthwhile.... Wink

Shows you what can be done with a f@#k ton of money (in VW dollars at least). Now people will be asking $100,000 for their rust buckets, because this particular barndoor reportedly sold for that much.

I will post up some pics next week of the bus and as progress goes.
Engine is a mild 132hp, IDA carbed, 1914. Trans is a Rancho Pro Street 3.88/122 3rd, .89 4th. Porsche 944 brakes on all 4 corners, Custom front beam, center steer and lots of other cool things. Wheels are still a mystery
