Can anyone confirm weather a bus came sprayed in primer underneath from factory ?
Or was it lower body colour?
And if primer etc what year bus it was applicable to if not all . _________________ Table top restorer! |

Bus was dipped in primer at the factory. Then the lower body color was oversprayed onto the underbody. They would get the wheelwells pretty good and what they could see from inside/under the engine compartment. The rest was left in the primer color. |

I concur from having owned two og paint busses and paying attention to people like MW. Both mine had been dealer sprayed with undercoating to prevent salt rash over the factory finish: one in snotty mucus semi sticky semi clear, one in dry black powdery glittery tar-ey stuff. |

my '58 15 has both chestnut and sealing wax painted on the bottom. the wheel wells are sealing wax but the center area between the outriggers is all chestnut and was painted BEFORE the sealing wax as it has some very light sealing wax over spray. this bus was fully undercoated I already removed it leaving very well preserved paint.
the only signs of exposed primer is in the wheel well area where the coverage of the sealing wax is a bit thin. _________________ DON'T SHIT WHERE YOU EAT! |

If you are going to use it as a daily driver in the UK, I suggest you consider painting the underside with Wurth SKS Stoneguard gray. It is a thin, undercoating-like coating that is smoother than asphalt undercoat, and it is bluish gray, like the factory primer was. It is a good compromise between rust protection and factory correctness. |

excellent will have a peek ,unsure about doing the whole underside though maybe arches only.
Bus is never gonna see rain and will be kept in a dehumidified carcoon aswell _________________ Table top restorer! |

It looks to me that you are correct with your description.
This is the bottom of my bus after the undercoating was removed
Note: the bus is a 1967 21 window
