all used except for oil filter and belts, fuel pump, CPU, idle control, afm harness, and fuel injector, all that does not take much space and not available from local FLAPS, ducktape is a must to put it all together Wink

and also Bentley, although the most useful tool on the road I think would be laptop with internet to give you access to this great website

the longer you drive vanagons, the more spare parts you carry.

my newest addition after almost getting stranded, the broken shift lever welded up now as a spare. other wise (and some are missing right now) axle, head light switch, belts, misc electrical goodies like wire and spades, fuses and bentley. i actually carry less with a subi conversion vs WBXer, with exception of axle (currently missing)

Cell phone, credit card, tool kit. I believe in Murphy. If I carry it it won't break. So I choose to carry nothing but spare fluids a little AFT for the PS pump, some coolant in case I break a hose, and oil. If the fuel pump goes, I get to be all I can be. If the alt. goes, it goes. I choose to fill the space with camping gear instead. I do carry a set of jumper wires on 10 gauge copper figuring if the headlight switch, start switch or some other do dad goes I can jump it to get home. Very Happy Hopefully if I break down one of you drive by with the right part! Almost forgot FUSES. I always have them. saved my bacon many times.

Oh wait, I carry some fuses. I also carry some jumper cables to help out some unlucky person. I do a lot of preventative maintenance and replace more parts than the average driver though- at least that is what the guys at VanCafe tell me. Confused

Besides a few neccesary tools I carry a spare alternator, fuel pump, AFM, ECU, idle control valve and idle control stabilizer, all belts, temp II sensor, and fan switch.

Spare plug wires, spark plugs, just put in a coil(mines getting hot when its running), Qt. oil, oil filter, all my tools, fuel filter, whole set of belts, rear hatch shocks, gorilla tape, misc. electrical, breaker bar, jumper cables, fuses, Bentley, light bulbs(tail lights, head lights, and some interior), and super glue.

But the majority of this stuff was in there when I got it from the PO just over two years ago now. Only things I've used in sticky situations were headlights(got me out of a fix it ticket), fuel filter, jumper cables, and fuses.
