The PO, seemed to have a hate for this bus. I was at the swap meet and found out he was in the booth behide me. It was late in the last day, and he said " I'm not taking this bus home, its going from here to the crushers". He then said " if I could push it off my trailer on some dirt road without getting caught I would".
Well lucky for me, I had sold a bunch of old signs at the swap and had some CASH. We worked out a deal, and I became the proud new owner. My cousin said he could drop it off at his daughters house which was on his way home, and since I didn't have my trailer with me, so that worked out good.

No...Nice color combo with the camper kit. Shame it does not appear to be an original camper, though I could be wrong.

Thats what I'm thinking, one reason is the window in the side closet, and the Mplate said it had 6 popout windows. The camper kit looks like a factory style material and a descent job.
But I'm sure it could tell some stories if it could. I'm thinking it spent its last days as a work / parts running bus for Ernies VW Auto Center, in Wichita. The building is still there but its a differnt business now.

Like I said in the bus hunting thread, I took a good hard look at that one, I didn't see anything too wrong that some funky green couldn't fix. Logo, flames, patina, shag carpet - what's not to love? I'm glad it went to a good home!

I'm in the Wichita area so if you need some help with it send me a PM.

You really should use the green shag as a launching point for your restoration theme. Think of the possibilities! Incense, Peppermint, Rosemary and Thyme. Oh, I think I'm trippin'!

Oh yeah, since its a 64 and the Beatles were rockin America, a little strawberry fields forever, and the Strawberry Alarm Clocks, from the Jersey shores to the Haight ashbury in San Fransico, peace and love my friend. Very Happy

I'm thinking this is a 64 but the last 7 digit starts with a 1200319, so is this a 1961? Thanks
