Engine looks perfect. I would not change one thing about it.
Really wonderful attention to detail. You will be glad you hid the MSD box. What are the odds that you'd get a dud? |

Thank you Your right in the long run I will be happy I hid it. The worst part is I bought it 5 months ago so its out of warranty with summit racing and will have to be sent back to MSD to be repaired and the guy I talked to said that could take up to two to get it back So I just bought another one. _________________ 53 zwitter

Thats always a problem about building a vehicle, you buy stuff ahead of time, either on sale, or you come across a good deal, then when it comes time to install the warranty is gone. I sure hope my new transaxle works, same deal, been in the car for three years now, but still haven't fired the motor yet.
But all in all, it sure looks mighty fine. _________________ I know you would understand what I'm saying if you could just see my HANDS

Well good last couple days on the DC...... I painted the seat stand and the blue on the bumpers and plan on painting the ribs white Sunday. I installed a bunch of dynamat in the rear prior to installing my new interior panels I hope it help quite thing down a bit.....Then I installed the rear seat then moved to the front of the bus and rapped up the wiring and fitted the kick panels. And yes I know I still have to paint the E brake handle

I love happening upon forums like this for the first time and reading it all the way through. This reads like a novel and the same feeling comes across when it is all over...a bit of sadness.
Conversions like this from a forgotten heap of metal that most likely at one time been tossed to the crushers to an AMAZING machine that roars back to life should not be taken lightly or just left to history after it is finished. I love the way you documented this and along the way inspired and helped many people along the way. You didn't have to do that considering how much time you were putting into this but I think we see your dedication to your craft and to VWs shines through with a good heart. I speak for everyone and thank you for that.
I guess what I am trying to say is that something like this transformation and the subsequent documentation would be best served in a collaboration with other stories just like it and put together in a special place...a separate forum, blog or something like that. Just a thought.
You did an amazing job and Dr. Porsche would be very proud of you..oh..and Ben Ponn too! |
