This is my favorite pic of my '65 standard. I bought this bus for $2000, drove it home, cleaned it up, and have been driving it for a couple of years. I've put some money into it, but not out of necessity. One of the local club guys made the roof rack.
It's not a perfect bus, it's not a rare bus, it's not a lot of things, but it is mine and I'm friggin' happy as hell with it. Most times I drive it, when the weather is nice and the tunes are good, I think that if I were to die right then, it would be the best time to go, because I'm seldom happier than I am when I'm behind the wheel of my bus.

I second that!
Here's my favorite pic of my '56:
I didn't take the picture and I have no idea what effect/lens was used but it sure makes my car look nice and shiny.
And here's my favorite pic of my '65:

Shortly after getting it running, before that it was more or less used for storage. _________________ How is my Beetle any less of a car? If anything, it's more of a car, since there's no computers intervening for every little function.
