Hi guys. New to the site. Just picked up this baby. Not sure what/who made the chassis. It has a 4g63 turbo engine w/ a 5-rib trans and a kennedy stg 2 clutch. It is kinda rough and has running issues, but when its runs right, it hauls the mail. I've replaced a few things (clutch slave, MAF, wastegate) and I am ordering some more stuff in a few days.

It currently has a 2275cc motor in it with a 3-rib bus tranny. If anybody knows what frame it is, please let me know.

I would agree with that. That question gets asked a lot.

Just bought it, still going over some issues on it. Would love to know who's frame and whether the A-arm conversion (which is giving me trouble) is a kit. Otherwise, fun! Turbo 1914, blow through Weber 44.

The front fiberglass nose is almost certainly an older Hi Jumper brand nose. The HiJumper of this style was an imitation of the Funco. But this one looks like HiJumper.

The frame I cannot ID. It is probably NOT a HiJumper, unless it was DRAMATICALLY modified. The double-hoop[ cage suggests and looks a LITTLE like a Berrien or Bee-Line's imitation. More probably the same brand as another current thread.

The front a-arm suspension appears to be a kit, but I also cannot ID the source of it.

It IS a good looking car.

Rinr's buggy is a Chenowth. I believe he sold it a while back. The original company went out of business some years ago. While there is a firm building buggies using the Chenowth name recently, as I understand the old frame designs are not being built now. But I believe you can buy the fiberglass.

A good and fairly similar alternative would be a Berrien frame and matching bodywork from Acme.

Here is one of their pics of a buggy with fiberglass bodywork

Of course, if you're not up to building one yourself, you could simply start browsing the classified ad section on here for offroad cars. Here's a Berrien for sale currently listed.
