A small little piece recorded while driving back home from the first test ride after beeing parked away in 1967 (or was it 1965? Cant remember).

My barndoor is now fully MOT:ed and managed without any remarks to be accepted by the Swedish registration control. You have to do this in order to get it taken into the car registry again after beeing dropped out of it since 1965 when the former owner called it "scrapped".
At this control they check everything in the car so that it has the correct engine, gearbox, brakes and such and makes sure that the car is what it is supposed to be. I was a bit nervous before this since mine is customized with bigger engine, newer gearbox, bigger brakes and so on but I was glad to see that the guy that did the control used common sence before bureaucracy. It all went well!!!
After that I have managed to go to a few shows...

Hi nize,
congrats to that sweet build up. The paint buffs in very nice.
The difference between before/after is really visible
What tire sizes do you have?
Have fun with that nice piece of Wolfsburg metal.
Greetings,
Felix |

Thanks for all the positive feedback! Regarding the tire sizes.
It is 165/60 up front and 185/65 in the rear... 4,5"/15" front and 5,5"/15" in the rear. _________________ ----------(VW)----------

Not much happened with the bus the last couple of month but I finally got some time to paint the inside of the cargo area.
Started of with a layer of 2k Epoxi.
Then some grey 2k paint:
Next step will be to build some kind of xamping interrior during the winter. _________________ ----------(VW)----------

Shame on me...!
I haven´t updated this project tread for a looong time now. Its about time that I put some words and pics here now!
Last year I built a simple interior to my bus. I had the luck to find a vintage sofa from the sixties. With some modifications it was possible to fit it in the bus and the orange sixties style is just perfect with the blue and white of the bus (at least thats what I think).
I started of with making some templates for OG-style legs for the seat part.
Then some welding...
Test fit:
And the result...
This is how it looks when its bed time...

As the bus has been finished for a while it is natural to start wondering about its past life. The project thread is named after the logos that was visible on the front doors. However it turned out that the company Dahlströms Grävmaskiner did not actually own the bus more than a couple of months if you read the old registration papers. As there was signs of older logos on the bus I thought it would be cool to also recreate those even though the companies did not own the bus during the same time. The other company logos was from "Byggnads AB Frisk och Bergvall". A construction company that turned out to be quite big in the sixties and seventies in Hudiksvall. They were actually building parts of Hudiksvalls city so they were a major construction company but in the fifties they seemed to have been starting of in a minor scale.
The bus was in their ownership between 1958 - 1962. Before that the bus was in the hands of a plumber between 1956 - 1958 and I actually now have got the telephone number to this 90 years old man. I have tried to call him two times but he has not answered yet. He is supposed to be clear up there so hopefully I can get hold of him and see if he remembers the bus.
Anyway regarding the "Byggnads AB Frisk och Bergvall"... This was their big head office:
I did find a sign writing artist that was willing to try to restore the old logos. This is Jim in action...
Making the logos look old...
The finished result:
Out in the sun:
Now I just need to restore the logo on the cargo door side and their sign that you can see traces of behind the last window in the rear. Its basically a capitol "F&B" with an old style tool with a weight in a string used in the old times before lasers in order to get stuff vertically aligned. _________________ ----------(VW)----------

Thanks a lot for all the nice words...
Last weekend Jim headed over to my garage again for session number two of logo painting. This time on the driver side.
Its kind of an idiotic thing to first make a nice and smooth logo and then destroy it with Mirka Mirlon aging
Please also note the extensive wear around the cargo door handle supposed to come from years of opening and closing the cargo doors.
Now I just need to throw some dirt on it to make it 100 %

Thank you Scotty!
We thought that the logo on the drivers side should be a little bit more worn out as the side was a little more exposed on this side obviously judging from the roof and side patina. _________________ ----------(VW)----------
