If anyone can help me out I'd greatly appreciate it. I've been through all the threads here and on multiple VW paint sites, but no one seems to have the color matching my code: LO5T or L05T Is there another code for the same color? _________________ '89 Vanagon Bluestar

Could it be LP5Z? That's Orly blue (a darker shade). Or LH5U? That's Dove Blue Metallic (lighter). Maybe the print is faded on the code you're reading? Are you sure the code is right?

OK, it looks like it's LD5T, Star Blue Metallic. I tried searching Google for "LO5T paint code" with no results, so I tried "LD5T paint code" and found a site with a reference to this code on a Jetta, but it must be the same on your Vanagon.
Here's the link I found:

yeah, its deffintely not orly blue or dove metalic blue. what you have is a "bluestar". you have the striped interior and the grey dash right? well, 89 wolfsburgs were either whitestars or bluestars, if im correct. the number you found may very well be correct. if you still havent found an answer, please feel free to bother me and email me to see if the same paint code is on my bluestar. _________________ "go slower, go lower!!!"

I checked the gti16v site first, but that code/color is not there. Several other sites do list LD5T as Star Blue Metallic. They just don't list it on a Vanagon, but since we see the paint code in the pic, and LD5T comes up on several Google searches, that must be it. Looks like a few of us were typing responses at about the same time.

Ed in CT, thank you for the help. I will use that code for reference.
Tulsa Fresh, your insight is appreciated. I would be curious to know if our paint codes do match.
Much obliged, gentlemen _________________ '89 Vanagon Bluestar
