The clamps here are not stock. |
Those are some "quick release" clamps that were installed back when the Bus was new. I, nor any of the Bus guys who've seen them, have ever seen them before. The Bus was used as a "limousine" in Switzerland and has a few odd accessories including a front Coco mat on top of the perfect original front mat, privacy curtains that were said to have been installed by Westfalia, the odd quick releases on the middle seat, and an original Westfalia trailer hitch on the rear as well. _________________ Please check us out on Instagram at @holygrailgarage

I'm pretty sure a 1950 Kombi isn't supposed to have one.
From a 1950 brochure that was on Ebay recently.

I was referring to the rear of the backrest, not the top of the backrest. That picture doesnt show the rear. A 1950 microbus would have the rear grab bar. Are you suggesting that a 1950 kombi would be different? I have seen several early 4 legged seats for sale over the years with no grab bar. That would certainly explain why, although I always assumed that they were butchered or from some other German vehicle.
Bubba, does yours have the mounting holes on the rear? |

The rear seat middle leg in that picture appears to be different to a wolfburg rear seat aswell. |

Ha, I laughed at the robot voice at the end.
I think the seat is green though? That would be a 55-56 non-Barndoor Standard seat.
Still very cool and in awesome condition. |
Green? No, brown _________________ WTB a barndoor preferably from sweden
