Keep plugging away and walk away when you get tired, I try and work on mine every other night and one day during the weekend so I don't get burned out...Your Baja is looking good.

as promised. here is what happens when you snap your front end beam in half(my buddies baja). It snapped where it was cut and twisted. His defense was that someone else welded it. haha

DUDE!!! I havent been to your page (or the samba really) in a long time. Its great to see your finally out playing in the thing you worked so hard to build. It looks great! I love that color. I dont have time right now to read up from where i last saw it, but im gonna do that later for sure.
Im starting to get my subaru engine put in, so ill probably be lurking around the samba a bit more now and updating my build page too.

Lovin the photos Chubby, were those taken somewhere near Hauser?
The terrain looks really familiar. Hope your car is performing as well as it
looks, congratulations.

Thanks guys. The car does okay. I'm in the process I've new tie rods and ends, link pins and bushings, and back woods rebuild of my steering box( making one good one out of two sloppy ones). Also adding longer shock towers and taller shocks on the front end. Hopefully smooth out the ride a little.
I do need to weld on some stops for my irs pivot bolts. I noticed one is backing out. Also still need to figure out how to make those kadrons run right with my engine. I tell you what though night and day difference on the sand between a 1600 and 1835 on the sand.
Oh yeah new master cylinder as well.
When all this is done I need to pick up where I left off. Heaters, door panels, stupid stuff, ect.
Oh yeah my LED ribbon dome lights looked pretty cool at night camping. I'm thinking of going 80's and running a couple strips of blue underneathe the body next to the body lift where it would be protected. I think that would look sick at night on the sand. I was also trying to figure out a way to have some I could temporarily attach to my roof rack. Or not? I still got lots to do with it. But that's why they're called projects. Haha.

been awhile, sorry, but my laptop at home that i normally use went to shit a long time ago and never have gotten around to fixing it. useing my work computer right now. don't tell nobody. haha.
anyways.... just a quicky here.
Finally took my virgin out into the mud last weekend. just some side roads, some rutted. She actually did better than expected. i did find some trouble areas that i need to address. for instance, when i went through a water/mud hole. I had about 8 billion gallons of water pour in through my fuseblocks and everywhere else in the front. need to do some fixing there.
here are a couple of pics from the mud.

Hey that's awesome, looks like a fun little brake in trip. Any plans for the dunes this coming year?

Yea, I know what you mean. I am hoping to have my subie swap done for the dunes by spring time. But just having it out on the dunes will be cool for me.

Say Chubby I live just over the river from you in Springfield. I was wondering if you know of any other guys with Bajas in the local area who would be interested in a weekend back roads run to someplace. Have you had any inspiring ideas to make some changes to your bug these days? Well take care and keep your bug rolling.

Only people I know of is my buddy and I. We just went to the dunes last weekend and we both blew up 1st gear. What are the odds?? I'm always down for a run. Not sure where to go anymore though.

What tranny are you running that would be able to blow first gear?. I hope you will be able to get it fixed ok. It would be no fun to have a bug you can't drive.
