|
|
I’m here in Albuquerque, New Mexico visiting my dear aunt till Sunday (I'm from NJ sea shore) and I just found out where my ancestors, the Eckert's & Grunthaner's, "homeland" in Germany is. We are from Bavaria, a town called Kühlenfels, Germany which is 3.4 hrs from Wolfsburg. I don’t know which factory my 67 Westy came from but Kühlenfels is 4.5 miles from Westphalia, My aunt & I are trying to locate a street address in Kühlenfel’s because we only have a house number 44. Any Samba members from that area? I’m thinking perhaps I need to ship my bus to Germany and visit the homeland of my ancestors now that I have finally narrowed down the exact town and home of the Eckert's & Grunthaner's in the Bavarian region of Germany. I feel so connected to this bus now.
