I lurk on the samba quite a bit, and the forums have helped me more times than I can count. Combined with the Bentley Manual I have gained a lot of insight on how to keep my bus alive.

The one thing that I learned early on the samba is to use the search function. You will notice that I haven't posted very many topics because with a enough searching you can find anything.

The only reason I am posting today is I was wondering what everyone thought of an early bay forum and a late bay forum like the split window busses have. There is a lot of information that is specific to only a early or late bay and when you search you have to dig through a bunch on TypeIV engine topics when you are looking for something for a 1600. Maybe this isn't even an option. Maybe I should have used the search button because this topic was already discussed.

no worries, think the bays from early to late have more things in common than differences and since the early bays only ran from 68-71 it would be a much smaller forum than the combined group which in turn would make our knowledge base smaller all the way around.

just make sure you use type 1 in your search string if your looking for 1600 info, or in short you can limit your search to only include type 1 info anyways so there's no sense in breaking the group up, lol

just imho, take care man and hope all works out for you!

Right after they split the Eurovans from the Vanagon forum.
