Hi Folks!
Just wondering why Bilstein replaced the 6100 series B46-1085 front shocks for class 11 with the F4-BOA-0000304 ones...
Taking a look at the new cataloge and comparing it with the old one from 2008 you can see there are no difference between them either in size, travel, valving, colour etc...
From 2008:
From 2011:
The only B46-1085 "R" and "S" still available are about the 7100 series ones...

Hi Folks!
I directly asked to Bilstein about that...
They told me the part numbers I'm referring to actually are the same parts...they just changed the serial # and now they only offer these as a plated metal parts.

Does anyone know for sure if the 6100's are yellow paint or plated now. Has anyone bought fronts B46-1085 and rear B46-0930-H0 recently?
I called Allshocks.com and eshocks today and didn't really get an answer. The factory is closed until next week. I'm just not a fan of yellow. Reminds me of Monroe's (which were good shocks) Dad owned a tire store when I was a kid and I just grew to hate them. I'd prefer the metal plate and I might get the 7100s if the 6100s are still yellow. |

Any one have experience with the bilstein 6100 series front shock? I'm gonna order a pair but i'm not sure about the valving . they advertise off the shelf with 265/70 valving
but the bilstein recommendation chart here
http://www.eshocks.com/bil_Orvg.asp#Buggies
suggest that they be valved at 180/75 for most baja bug applications including racing
i'm putting them on a class 11 style |
