I had to replace a front brake drum today. 4/5 lug holes stripped when I finished tightening the wheels right after that last picture. I tried to at least get it out of the garage, but when I was halfway out, the bolts gave way and the wheel came off.

I dunno what brand this guy used for brake drums, but if you ever come across a drum with "BDC" printed on it...

THROW IT AWAY!!!!! ITS REALLY BAD QUALITY STUFF!!!

Wow that sucks about the drum ehh. I had to replace ALL 4 OF THEM to get my car to pass safety Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad cot me a $#!% ton of money. The po had mounted them wrong and they warped causing me a frustration and a hurting wallet.

OHH and im SUPER exited about my paintjob. FINALLY chose a color Dancing. Its a newer MK4 color LB5R its SOO clean. I think im going to go german look direction with my car (exept for the porche engine tho, im too poor Sad wish i could afford one. Mabey in the future Smile) and make it look good. I think i decided that for a late model super you either need bone stock or german look. My car came Cal Look and its ehhhh not great, could be nice looking.

Heres The Paint

^ nice!, good color choice.

I'm still trying to decide whether I want to keep my car some shade of blue, or repaint to the original white w/ red interior.

I'd really like to see an original L87 pearl white beetle in person so I could figure out if I like it or not.

yes definately look at the paint in perosn before you choose it. On screen and in real life lok completely different. You could always go to a body shop and see if you can get them to spray you a sample on something. Most body shops will have no problem doing this for you because if you like the color, they will most likely get your buisiness Smile

sorry about your brakes man, I'm havin issues with mine. The cap broke off the fluid reservoir the other day and I guess enough sloshed out that it got air in there and I had to drive all the way home with just the handbrake. So I started bleeding em yesterday and I thought it would be easier to just take the tires off so I dont gotta crawl under the car and those damn lug bolts are stuck in there good. It took me a long time with an impact driver and a 5 foot cheater bar to get the back ones off.

you should paint it yourself Razz I did my paint job for 500. if you dont wanna spend that much money hoping you can get it perfect, buy a smalllll amount and practice on something. then use some high grit sandpaper and rubbing compound to make it perfectly smooth Surprised save yourself alot of cash. lol

my dad traded me new cylinder heads, pistons and cylinders for me to buff, polish, and wax his 51 foot boat. lol....ever since then ive been on my own :[

I dint mind paying somebody to do it because I know it's going to be done properly. I'm lazy and would honestly endup cutting corners and itd ensue looking like shit. I've tried painting a few things, my bmx my dirtjumper and my first beetle, I'm NO painter Razz idk what it is but I just can't get the paint toflow the way I need to or can't do smooth passes or SSOMETHING cause they all looked like crap. I also suck at body work. Ii know this would be a good time to learn but I don't wanna mess this one up. I might buy a parts car and goof around with that one and learn how. I don't want to endup messing this car up worse that it was

wasn't really trying to burn out. Razz (and with these new tires, it's almost impossible anyway.)

Meh, the stereo had like two miles of wiring that was getting in the way of straightening out the rest of the wiring situation.

But now instead of that plate I made, I found an old radio block off plate in the attic, so I'm using that instead.
