So I just went out and messed with my front brakes, and re-charged the beam with grease.
Hopefully now the front brakes won't lock up so easily, and the front suspension won't creak.
I actually spun the car 360 in traffic the other day. fun.
I have $1175 so far, hopefully by summer I'll have about $2500-$3000
Also, I found a pic of a beetle that is 'EXACTLY' what my beetle's going to look like when I finish it.
(But about an inch lower in the rear.) |
Yeah my brakes used to lock up like that too, drum brakes do that I think unless they are perfectly round. I have the same problem with my vespa. I would highly recommend switching to discs. _________________ 73 SB, Hormiga |

Went down to get another block and some other stuff, apparently the dude has decided to raise the price of blocks from 180 to 250 so I was pretty bummed about that. He's supposed to have it ready tommorow. _________________ 73 SB, Hormiga |

Once I have the money, maybe by august, unless something else needs to be repaired/replaced I'll probably be going to front discs. _________________ (0\!/0) 1966 Beetle - daily driver. |

Went to a show this weekend, picked a centernount idf manifold for 20 bucks. Its got the preheat tube that goes up in between the runners so I'm hoping it'll work ok til I can afford dials. _________________ 73 SB, Hormiga |

New car!!!
Not mine, but my Mom's, to replace her destroyed E150 van.
Also, I got a cool "new" fog light. And I'm in the process of replacing my door panels, int. handles, and window cranks. _________________ (0\!/0) 1966 Beetle - daily driver. |

Haha yeah I used to use it for bombing hills. Its actually a mountain board with regular trucks on the back and the huge mountain board trucks in the front. That thing was scary fast and never got speed wobble. It also has carpet on it lol _________________ 73 SB, Hormiga |

Yeah, same story here. I literally JUST got those carbs on, and just got done moving into a new house.
Also just ordered some new Nankang tires. _________________ (0\!/0) 1966 Beetle - daily driver. |
