hey bobnotch,
i will ask my restorer where they got the windscreen seal from...
i take it your after the original type with slot for the chrome strip rather than the "cal look" rubber without it.
hey 1500 king,
i assumed all our aussie panelvans came out with clear lenses in the front indicators.
not that ive seen a lot of them in the flesh ( 3 or 4 i guess ) but they all have been clear.
are you running 6v ???? can you get amber globes in 6v ???
i may go to clear lenses with orange amber as im running 12v now..
always thought amber was easier to see... |
I remember when my car had 27000 miles on it back in the early 1990's ( before I owned it, it has 40,000 now), they were orange then. Will do some more research on it as I've had and parted quite a few early type 3's, N's, S's, etc Aussie and German built...but no distinct pattern to clear lenses on the Aussie cars.
In regards to globes, try the bloke below. I had my 6V Type 3 fog light globes made as I couldn't find (Ba20s I think, was a while ago) 6v globes with the correct base, so I had 55W 6V quartz Halogen globes made with the correct base. He does all sorts of globes, including LED's in whatever pattern you want. Was great for me as he is in Adelaide.

Did you end up finding cargo strips? Try HK/HT/HG/HQ/HX/HZ Holden wagons also had same profile strips. |

Thanks for the link for the 6volt globes...
I will pass that on to my brother-in-law who has an FJ holden 6volt.
I converted the panelvan to 12volt 30 years ago or more.
I know its not original but it has some advantages
2 speed wipers, brighter headlights, radio etc
I am still in the process of sorting the cargo strips...
the holden ones are fractionally longer and fractionally wider..
i think if i use all holden ones it will look fairly close to original...
looking forward to getting it back..............shouldnt be too far away i hope

I thinking about to sell my panelvan...
A rare opportunity, i know. But hard thought's about "how much"...
I'm pretty sure, there is no better unrestored (painted for sure) and more original one out there! It's more a collector item, not really for permanent road use!
Your thought's...?

Sale Price ????????????
After all the work youve put in to restore the panelvan it would be a shame to sell it...
I intend on making mine a daily driver...
Cant wait to have it on the road...
Its only a matter of weeks now...
The amount mine is costing maybe i should have just bought yours !!!!!!!

Hard to find a price! This panelvan is not a car to put an advert for it at the newspaper. All original interiour in very good condition! Running car with matching number 2 carb engine...
Rarer than a samba - rarer than a Hebmüller. But just a type3...
If somebody is making a good offer - ok! But asking xxxxx€, i dont know! |
