| The steering arm and the nut from the bolt hits my shifter linkage when I turn the wheel. It is so bad it catches sometimes and I really have to turn pretty hard to get it to unbind. Has anyone ever heard of this happening. I have a 67 bus. I looked up front where the shifter bolts through the floorpan where the shifter linkage starts and it looks like a pin holds it in place in the front so it looks like it is where it is supposed to be. Meaning it doesn't look like it is sagging from the front. I think I have a pic of it you just have to know what to look for. |

Did you ever figure out if you are missing torsion leafs in your front beam? Are any cracked or broken?
The old way of lowering a front end was to take out a few torsion leafs, might be what you have going on in there. _________________ Currently looking for: 66-67 OG paint Sea Blue L360 Apron - 2/3 Middle Seat Grab Handles for Aero/Steel |

| The p.o. Said he removed torsion leaves out of the front but when I pulled the trailing arms off today there were nine up top and nine on the the bottom. Is that how many there are supposed to be. I have a donor beam that has nine up top and nine on the bottom. So I'm guessing the p.o. Was mistaken or something. When I was pulling off the spindles the two bolts that hold them on where finger tight and the pins or rods that lock the bolts in weren't even turned to the locking position so when I took the nuts off the bolts just pulled right out I didn't even have to turn the pins that lock it in. I'm talking about where they bolt to the trailing arms. I found some pics of the steering arm that is hitting the shifter linkage they aren't that good but if you look real good you can see what I am talking about. I will be under the bus all day tomorrow so I will get better pics. |

Probably should keep this stuff in your other thread so we can keep it all in one place for reference. It will help us, you, and anyone who reads it in the future if it is all together.
That said, we could use a few clear shots. Maybe one showing where the shift rod enters the tube towards the rear of the bus, and one or two of the bottom of the shifter where it passes through the floor. _________________

Just repost this same question on the other thread. Let this one die off. _________________
