Ok,ok, I'm motivated! Now if I could just kick this dang cold that's keeping me from the garage. Why does it seem like you only get sick on your days off? |

Had this Laser 917 for a few years now. I removed one front beam spring cluster and added a thru rod. Replaced the front shocks with air shocks so I can jack it back up to get into my driveway with minimal skidding. Installed an onboard compressor to power it.
Replaced the gauges and built a custom dash panel. Reupholstered the seats, installed 4 wheel disk brakes. Still waiting on a hot engine to do it's looks justice.

For the life of me I can't find it however one of the first manxters was featured in a BFG ad. It's the yellow one in the Manxter ad but the picture was perfect. Perfect stance, nice filter use and it really convinced me to look for a pair of Jackman rims for mine.
It was similar to this pic, but it had the color matched jackmans on it.
It was the first pic i had ever seen of the Manxter and ruined me.! _________________ 71 LWB Manx style dunebuggy

Three totally different scenarios. All from beautiful Oregon State. All within a one hour or less drive from home.
Great spring, summer and fall buggy cruising. Winter not so much. Lots of rain. Oh well need winter time to work on buggy.
Pacific ocean beaches
Woods, endless miles of back road crusing.

Wow, I cannot point to one buggy that gave me inspiration to build my Manx. It came from years of cruising this site and pouring over many build threads. I get inspired at buggy events looking over other people's work.
To mention just a few people who had influence on my build:
Murzi had influence to keep it clean and simple in appearance, (I know my buggy does not look simple, but there are so many tricks hidden from view under this guise)
FarmerJohn influenced me on my enclosure that is nice when it rains and is cold to help extend my buggy season
AquaManx influence is kind of obvious
wvbowtieman influenced me on the body details to really make it pop
vincent9993's influence was on driveability of a buggy so it would still be enjoyable after riding in it for 9 hours
Several members who primarily have set their buggy's up for off road/on road in tire, rim, suspension looks.
And I also experiment in building buggy's to try and build different each time.
As a years wrap, Darlene and I have had a blast with this buggy in 2014 and look forward to making many more memories with old and new friends in 2015.

Slammed and a pain in the a$$ to drive
The reason for slamming it
At a better ride height ready for the auto-x track
My Bounty Hunter I bought from Burly Burlile in 2013. Collecting parts for this one and hope to start in a couple of years after I build my new buggy to go to Bonneville with.

Build it well and play with it hard.
