I've seen that picture on The Samba before Gary but I can't remember if was in this forum or "Vintage Speed."
Shortly after it was posted a Sambanista posted saying that was his father in his '57 daily at a hill-climb back in the day. |
I just saw it posted in the Readers' Rides forum and thought it would be a fitting addition to this thread. _________________ West Virginia State Board of Education v. Barnette, 319 U.S. 624 (1943) |

Haha, at least she isn't smoking INSIDE that car! Probably why she looks so pissed off at the camera! Hubby probably told her "You're walking home if you even try to light that in my car!"

This picture is at least 28 years old. Does that count or is ther a better place to post pictures of my old Ghias?

That picture with the Alfa nose reminded me of a late night trip with my son: We pulled into a gas station for some snacks and the cashier looks at the Ghia outside and his mouth drops open, then two customers look and their mouths drop open also. Then the cashier says loudly "Oh my G*D! It's an Alfa Romeo!!"

I love these photos, especially seeing my town represented. 1959 in the desert. That bus has refrigerated air! Can't quite figure out where this shot was taken though... |

Ha! yeah they're nice pictures Udo. Someone posted another period showroom picture with a black Ghia like the second one above. I'll see if I can find it.
Edit: Here it is...can't remember where I got it...you probably sent it to me.

Found this on the interwebs today, and thought it was really cool - so thought I would share. Looks like it's pulling a kayak? Judging from the rust it must have been to the boat ramps afew times.
