Okay quick question/quick topic...

No luck with search

Did the script on the rear of buses change over the years. Any one have pics? I am asking because I haven't found one at shows that anyone would confirm would fit my 62

"Frigedaire" or "Hotpoint". "Amana" is too short. Or maybe a dealership badge?.

Maybe, but not anything VW produced or shipped it with. Script started in Oct. IIRC and was on the hinge panel under the hatch.
I agree, dealer badge.

The Boulder (Colorado) Valley (dealership) badge I just measured is 100 mm from the two mounts or a smidge less than four inches.

When did the '1500' become an option? wasn't it late '62?

A '1500' or similar badge would be my guess.

my bus is a march 1962 and it did not have that drive train in it nor those m-codes if they exist . at this point Id like to see some dealership script to get some ideas. I know I can just fill the holes but what fun would that be?

Could be a dealer badge, as others have said. How far apart are the holes?

The 1500 emblem is very small.

It looks similar to the size of the VOLKSWAGEN emblem on later Buses but I believe that has 4 prongs.

Measure the distance between the holes and maybe someone can match up one of their existing dealer or other badges to tell you what will fit.

see that's the kind of stuff I'm looking for I didn't know that emblem had four prongs. like I said above I will measure the holes when I can but as it is surely a dealership logo I can assume there all going to be different so matching one up will be difficult . Thanks again for the input

The 1500 script coincidentally is the same as the dealer badge, 100 mm, has two smooth studs, but they are fatter than the VW script's studs.

Good point on the studs.

Which dealer badge? I have a few dealer badges, all of them are longer than 100mm but there are tons of different badges.

For reference, here's the 1500 badge we are talking about:

Common placement on the decklid (not always though)"

Also visible is a comparison to the location of the VOLKSWAGEN emblem and it's placement. This is a '63 15-Window.

But could a 62 have had a 1500 engine from the factory?

As far as I know the 1500 option began in 1963 with the combination 1-ton/1500cc package.

A lot of late US-delivered '63 Deluxes have this options.
