Looks good... But not even in contention for "the best looking", IMO it looks street baja. Sorry. Very Happy

I have been trying to get my arms around that also. I guess since my rims will be polished, mine will be street too?!

No offense intended, to either of you. To me, matched paint w/chromed mirros says "street"... and there's nothing wrong w/ that. BUT, I like 'em tough looking. The less chrome/shine on bajas the better (for me at least, it's just my taste or lack thereof). Very Happy

They look good I will take a set. What did you use between the mirrior and the door for a mounting pad?

I used a cheap rubber stuff from Harbor Freight that is used to line the inside of tool drawers. It came in a sheet. It's like real thin neoprene.

I think the unpainted one piece front end negates the "too street" argument

JonF, could you post the image in the Samba gallery? I want to use it for a "Baja Bugs for Volkswagen Virgins" coming up soon.

Is it just me, or does this mount appear under-attached? All the round stock, bracing, plate steel to protect a mirror that is attached by three small cap screws.

That is like getting a double Whopper, Super Size Fries and a Diet Coke. Like the Diet Coke, the beefy mount is just there for the ride.

there seems to be one more 1/4" stainless screw in front, barely visible, about 1" aft of the front tube

rather sturdier than the 2 #10 sheet metal screws commonly used on jiveass plastic turbo mirrors

Right, there are 4 bolts going into aluminum nutzerts (blind nut mount). Rather sturdier than a double whopper with a milkshake.

It's Ford Mustang color: "Valencia". Looks halfway between orange and yellow. The hood and accents are also a Ford color: Tungsten grey metallic.

I like the clamp on mirrors but not the clamps. I used a insert and bolted them on.
