Thanks for the memories yesterday! We need to set a date to hit the streets of Los Angeles! I guess after the Classic, from Elysian Park to Whittier Blvd.

Washington was a major fast moving street , Oak was narrow and dark, the back pkg lot was underneath the freeway and you had to go in thru the gate. You couldnt cruise the front of The Casa cause it was a deadend and there was no room. Since I lived so close me and my friends used to ride dirt bikes or beach cruisers we used to steal from USC to get there. There was a liquor store across the street with a small pkg lot but that was small to and if fights would break out there, forget about coming out of there unscathed.
Both DQs were perfect for cruising. J8Bug[/b]

Hahahaha!!!..Funny bro!!!................Your right about Casa being hard to cruise so we would try to find parking acoss the street....but downtown LA's DQ's was nice to cruise.......(on a side note I was in downtown LA with my Lady on Saturday and I was thinking about back then and instead seeing all the hip clubs & restaurants now and all the "hipster" midwest transplants walking the streets bar hopping).

Naw... The bus is to much 2012, Will take BT!

Seen one of these this past weekend and explained to my son how they were banned back in the days!

Story on these...

These little bikes rode around back in the days in and around my area in groups of ten or more. These guys were nuts driving all over the roads crazy like where you would see cruising these popped up in droves. Where ever they road something was going to happen and sure enough each time something went down the police would roll up on them and each one would run from them. They were small and quick so they would always get away but one or two would get caught but those were the chances they took. Shit was hella funny so they banned them. Don`t know if they still allow these on the road nowadays.

Those pocket bikes always annoyed the hell out of me when people buzzed through swap meets on 'em. Those, and pit/mini bikes. They have their place, but swap meets ain't it!

I thought BTII would also make a better blast to the past statement on a nostalgic cruise.

Man!!! those little pocket rockets were all over the place like moscas buzzing around in packs!!! They must be illegal now but you do see the slightly larger YZ white & red sport bikes every now & then. You guys are right BTII should be leading the nostalgic cruise.....I thought since CRG never left the scene that his bus would be the intro to how far the quality of our CalStyle has become today, with all the OG's following..........But Bad Temper II is the obvious choice to lead the pack!!

Speaking of busses and nostalgia. There was a moment at the Bug-in when VWkidd, Ruben Navarro and I had just started talking about The BusBoys and at that same moment we all look left cause someone was pulling up on the side of us, and all 3 of us simultaneusly say "busses exactly like those." It was an oldschool 80s CalStyle bus on alloys. Except for the exhaust it was perfect BusBoy style. Im kicking myself for not taking a pic of it. That MOfo was sweet too!!!

Vdubbers with roots in Michoacan like VWKidd and myself whos mom is from there might find this cool. Youll recognize my homie from 40th last name. His name is Juan Saul Cardenas whos great uncle was the 44th President of Mexico, Lazaro Cardenas. And his 2nd uncle was the governor, Cuahtemoc Cardenas. Johhny was a hard core Vdubber rolling in a 63 allwhite slammed OG bug back in the days with his 2 fine ass sisters with him most of the time. So yes our scene can also claim that Mexican royalty was in on the desmadre...

HouseParty in the hood I grew up in. Bad Temper as a standalone invitee amongst the carclubs, pretty badass right there. The Mini-Racers Cool. Most of the cities that made up the scene. Pretty sweet flier IMO!!

Cool Cool

Hey Richie Rich, For those of us that grew up in that party scene at The Casa and elsewhere and knowing the hot musical acts that performed for our crowd at that venue, one and only is the only way to describe Ceaser Denero and the Teddyboys!

Nothing gets past our resident historian VWKidd.. Talking with the OGs that were afilliated with that club you could tell deep down they wish they could restart it but there is hesitation because of the stigma attached to the name. I Say, GO FOR IT!!! We have all matured and no matter if you were in Huntington Park, Puente, ELA, Highland Park or South Central we were all up to the same shenanigans. We can now enjoy the hobby and not have it be the crazy way of life it used to be. Make it happen KIDD, and if you do, Im in. Just dont be surprised when I pull up and Ive already got a few notches on my Playboy air freshener Wink Laughing

I know im always dreaming but Im really feeling that ^. Besides this thread nothing is really being done on the streets to commemorate the 80s scene we lived in L.A/SGV... We can have the founder of the baddest VDub club on the planet come from the east and Bad TemperII coming from the west to meet up in the middle at Arrys. Talk about OGs leading the packs, DAYAAAAAMMNN!!! Drool I think it can grow to be something big over the years. Who isnt going to want to jump at the opportunity to cruise with some of the legends/pioneers of the L.A scene???
