This is my 68 autoshift that has been converted to an Manual IRS. Why do you think they cut the E-Brake support? Is it because the brakecables dump out at a different angle on a Autoshift? Also, why do you think they drilled those 3/8" holes? Was that for a Swaybar? Sorry for all the silly questions, I have a lot to learn. It was a job to get these pictures loaded!..

There could be any number of reasons why a PO did what they did.
My car if full of stupid shit the POs/PMs cobbled together. Slowly and surely, the stupid shit is disappearing and the car will return to some semblance of 'normalcy'.
Is there a hole on both sides? Could be for a sway bar, then. Or a Z-bar?

Some one could have drilled it to bolt up a skid plate.
