Read some of the posts, some waited 6 months or so to get a piece of paper. I realize they have to look through a lot of archives, but 6 months is out of control.

Very true. I figured I had already paid the money and was going to wait it out. I was beginning to have my doubts about ever getting anything and was going to write it off as a loss.

I applied for a birth certificate a while ago, but got the seemingly quite common 'illegible microfiche' reply. But now I want to pursue getting some sort of birth certificate.

Instead I was offered a dating certificate for 10 EUR.

This will be fine for registration, but the problem is it doesn't have it's original m-plate, so I'm worried that combined with the lack of birth certificate, this may affect value.

Anyone who can decode chassis numbers can work out it is a genuine 13w dlx.

It is a walkthrough, it has original paint and paint code stickers, and I have some of the original aero/papyrus upholstery.

What do you reckon my chances of getting a birth certificate with the information available and a few blank spaces, and what other information have I missed/what can I find out?

This information came to me today Smile I have never been so disapointed in my life...

Thank you for your order from 25 April 2014.

In principle the Stiftung AutoMuseum Volkswagen is pleased to research the data of your old Volkswagen from the vehicle data base and to draw up a birth certificate.
However, we are not able to research the data, because there are no registered details in the Volkswagen archive for chassis number.

We will transfer back the prepaid amount (50 €) to your bank account

We ask for your understanding.

Best Regards,

Mrs

I'm coming up for 8 months wait for mine! Everytime I email them I get a "we do not have a time for delivery" email. Infact I got an autoreply that the lady dealing with them is out of the office for a month so no idea when I'll be seeing mine.

I've been super patient and not kicked off at all with them but that tact is obviously not working

I've posted here before and have been holding back from adding any more fuel to the fire. However, I believe the delays are absolutely unnecessary and the excuses being doled out are fabrications.

I received the BC for my car mid August 2014 after waiting for over six months. However, after some research and posting in the Split forum, I discovered that the information on the BC was incorrect, stating that my car was a Standard when it is actually a Deluxe. I contacted them about this and they replied back stating that they would look into it and get back to me. The following day they wrote back saying that they checked their records and that they had in fact made a mistake and would be sending me a new BC. Less than two weeks later I received a new BC in the mail with the correct information and this time it even included the destination which was marked "N/A" on the first one they sent.

So why did it take six months to get the wrong information but less than one day to get the correct information? Furthermore, how do I even know what they sent is actually correct?

As far as I'm concerned, these BCs (at least they way they are currently being processed) aren't worth the paper they are printed on.

Yesterday,I got confirmation of Stiftung Automuseum Volkswagen that it will take up to 6 months to get a birth certificate of your car.
The reason: due to massive demand and an "internal reorganisation".
So, I replied that this service is unacceptable, and if they don't do something about this baglog, the problem will solve itself, because nobody wants to wait 6 months (or more) for a birth certificate Crying or Very sad

I ordered a BC on March 15 2014 and still have not received mine. I've attempted multiple emails from the contact on my receipt and a couple others I saw others have used. All with no response and the email that was on my receipt just gets kicked back as Delivery Status Notification Failure.. meaning the email they gave me is no good. I feel screwed and regret giving the funds. Joel

Ordered mine on October 8th. The countdown begins...but I did receive a response email from the Auto Museum rep, Frau Hendel, (if you also speak German, this might be a humourous name). Someone is alive there and perhaps the six months will only be five hahaha. Good luck everyone!

Just an update. I emailed Frau 9 days ago regarding it being over 6 months now and asking for a refund....still no answer. No certificate, no refund. Looks like I'm out 50 some Euro. Sad

Does anyone have a current email address? The one on the reply when I placed the order is not valid now and the email on the website went unanswered.its been over 6 months so it's probably time to be the squeaky wheel.

I ordered my BC back in March of 2014 and after following up on it, I finally received it this week after 7 months of anxiously waiting. Don't give up and keep on asking the Museum of the status.

Good luck everybody

Did you receive a response when asking about status? My emails have gone unanswered. What email address were you using?
