This thread is a complete 'pity party'. You complain about waiting & then come back to complain about the info on them! _________________ https://imgur.com/user/FisherSquareback/posts

I ordered my birth certificate on May 21st. I just received an email this morning saying it would be shipped next week. I did send a few emails regarding it but at least it's coming!

Hey Everrett, I am looking at buying a 58 panel(early, so no m code) that is missing the ID plate but has the body stamping. Apparently, it is titled using the body number. Can I get a birth certificate using the body NO if they match the chassis number (maybe they are the same thing??) Thanks, James |

I don't know if they can look things up by the body # but as long as you have an intact VIN # you would use the VIN # to get a birth certificate.
Even if you have no VIN plate, the VIN # stamping should still be there.
Example:
The body # and VIN/Chassis # do not match. _________________ How to Post Photos

I didn't want to read through all 36 pages to find if anyone's ever asked the question if the Vw archives and tell you about your Volkswagen and where was the delivered do you think it would be possible to use information they have to find Volkswagen that were not found yet _________________ (20-024785)Ambulance (20-037784)truck (20-035850)panel

As far as I know they only know the distributor the cars went to so they would not know this sort of detail.
A lot of information gathering would be possible if they computerized all the data.
For example, you could do a search to see how many 1952 Barndoor Buses went to a specific country like Egypt or California or a much more general location like North America. _________________ How to Post Photos

This information came to me today I have never been so disapointed in my life...
Thank you for your order from 25 April 2014.
In principle the Stiftung AutoMuseum Volkswagen is pleased to research the data of your old Volkswagen from the vehicle data base and to draw up a birth certificate.
However, we are not able to research the data, because there are no registered details in the Volkswagen archive for chassis number.
We will transfer back the prepaid amount (50 €) to your bank account
We ask for your understanding.
Best Regards,
Mrs

That is pretty brutal after that wait.
Maybe you can ask for more money as a genuine "missing numbers" VW?

My friend received the BC for his Beetle yesterday, ordered a couple of days short of 10 months ago! Talk about a waiting game... Do we have a winner here?! |

I xfered my money 24-May-2014. I just got my certificate 20-Jan-2015 = aprox 241 days = 8 months found out my blue is sapphire and my motor is original. Don't do it, unless you can forget about it for 8 months to a year. If you can wait, than it is pretty cool. |

I asked about information about data sheet back in Sept (in this post). No one seems to know what it is _________________ '67 deluxe bus w/the little windows

I ordered mine just two months ago. My 59 Euro sunroof is in the restoration process and I have only two very small OG paint areas to guess the original color. I wrote Roswitha Hendel at the museum and she said that the certificates were taking 8 months to deliver. She then said she would be able to look up and send me the original color on record by the next day. I received the L335 Capri Blue verification the next day as promised.
This was a big help to me and thought it was great that she did that.
