I was able to pick up this very freakish but also so cool Deluxe Bus Variant.
From what I know Goliath got a lot of there parts from the same manufactures as VW did. Examples are the glass, lights, ashtrays, door handles and I'm sure other parts. The motor is a front wheel drive 1100cc 4cyl water boxer. From what I can tell the Distributor, starter and fuel pump are 36 hp vw parts. I was also told the crank is 36 hp vw. I'm still learning a lot about this vehicle so if you have any info to add or correct me please feel free to post it.
Also if you know of anyone who has parts for sale for this vehicle please send them my way. I need a windshield, headlight, inside passenger door handle and remote and I'm sure a lot more

That is a very cool vehicle.
Out of interest, what sort of stud pattern does it run?
And where was it made? _________________ Cheers & God Bless

I think your biggest challenge will be sourcing a windshield. May be the same one used by the late model Tempo Matadors, but those are notoriously hard to find, and this is the first Goliath I've seen. I think your best bet might be to cut down a windshield from a Baywindow or maybe an American truck, worst case scenario would have you cutting it in half and adding a divider in between the halves (split window), it's pretty hard to cut curved windshield glass but it's been done before.
As I recall from the now-deleted Tempo Matador thread on KCW, the Matador had a ZF transaxle which because of the gear ratio, when mounted to an ACVW would give it a top speed of just 40MPH or so (they have Austin 4cyls from the factory); I wouldn't be surprised if your rig has the same transaxle. The good news is an ACVW bolts right onto the bellhousing, I'm guessing it won't be feasible to get the old watercooled engine running again. _________________ Check my classifieds for kewl gauges:

Why not?
If the block isn't rusted through or badly siezed it may well be fixable.
Might even run VW pistons! _________________ Cheers & God Bless

Thanks everyone I thought it was going to get torn apart
The Goliath is made in Werk Germany. The wheel pattern is 5x135 .
I'm going to try to get the motor running,if not it will have some sort of transplant(VW or Subaru) |

Is that similar to anything else?
It's different to Porsche and Bay/Merc patterns.

If you do a transplant I'd be looking for a small Subie motor.
Takes up less room and allows you to take advantage of the water cooled power and relative quietness.
You could even try a Wasserboxer although you'd want to be careful how much you put through an old box like that ZF one. _________________ Cheers & God Bless

Goliath is from Brehmen not a place called Werk.
Maybe you read Goliath Werk somewhere on a part but "werk"
means "manufacture".

Maybe the big ashtray is out front so you won't burn the wooden floor? _________________ Cheers & God Bless

I absolutely HATE smoking, but the amount of ashtrays makes sense to me.
1 rear seat with an ashtray at each end, 1 middle seat, ashtray at each end. AND if you were in the middle of the forward seat, just lean forward and theres one on the seat bulkhead.
Seems about right. I hope to see this little smiley girl rollin soon. I think its way cool. Its flattering to see other companies copying what we had then, because it was so dope and sold likehotcakes. Everyone wanted a piece of the action. _________________ Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude.
