I am mounting remote oil cooler and filter. On the adapter that mounts of engine which is out and which one is return?(it may say on the part, but the tin is all on so I can't see.I want to know so I can properly route oil through the cooler after filter. so I guess what I need to know is the top or bottom the "out" side? Thank you very much.

The mount that replaces the dog house cooler on the rear of the engine that is the part in question.

Because I don't know which is the in and out.

Personally, removing the stock oil cooler is not a good idea.

Why did you reply to a question you did not know then answer to?Then get frustrated? the Empi pic shows that the top is "out" and the bottom is"return" now we both know the answer. Thanks again for the help and advice.

The power of knowledge is at your fingertips...sometimes. I agree with him however, if it can still fit with your application; reconsider installing your stock oil cooler. I run the stock oil cooler, full flow filter and an oil cooler with elec. fan. It runs sooo cooool. BCG, remember this is a help forum and not all people will understand what you mean.

In Glenn's defense, your original post says:

On the adapter that mounts of engine

Would honestly confuse anyone. Did you mean on the engine? I thought you meant the adapter plate that covers the oil pump.

Thanks for all the help.I have one of the dog houses that does not a revision it is the angled off road one I assume. it has a mount like the empi one pictured and a hose connecting them together(that is how I got it anyway.I am adding a filter and a cooler with fan.It will be driven off road and probably slow sometimes.I thank everyone for the advice and help for sure trust me.All I wanted to know was which was out and in. I answered it myself and now I feel bad for replying to the never mind.... Thanks again for all the help and advice getting to the solution.Darrin

I need another set of eyes and some Exp here. Here is the bracket I got and when I go to mock up putting it on the only way I can is with the filter facing up. That does not seem right to me. Am I missing something or is this the way it needs to go?

Yes... it goes the other way on the outside of the header. The problem is it's not indented to be used on a header that still has a heat riser.

Can I mount it in between the Exhaust and the Header?

And upside down? I guess, just better have a filter with a anti-drainback valve. Also the filter will be in the engine compartment.

With the in/out pump combo you would of been better off with a filter/pump.

Why not mount the filter in the wheel well?

Just afraid of it coming off. What I was asking was if I mount it the proper direction (Down) I would have to put it between the header and the exhaust.
