Yeah, I saw that, well, interestedly enough I bought this bus from Ronnie Chase before he passed away, and guess where he lived at the time? Yeap you guess it, Oregon, unfortunately there is no way to know if he was the original owner of it, but there is a few things that make me believe he was, I will dig as much info I can on this cool bus.

Ronnie was not old enough to be have bought it new.

If Ronnie was still alive, I seriously don't think he would care all that much whether you kept that bus a 23, turned it back into a 15, or chopped it up completely. So long as he got paid and you got the bus out of his yard, he'd be happy.

That may me true as it is the case with most people, once you sell a car you have no say or control of what they do with it! Never met the guy in person, but after his accident and passing, it was clear to me that he was a very decent guy and the VW community seemed to love him dearly! I'm thinking on keeping this bus as original as possible for it's value and because I now know OG buses are dissapearing every day.
You knew him better, and maybe he wouldn't care what I do to my bus, so, I will care for the both of us! Wink

should look nice without ANY blinkers up front, and the proper '60 taillights, semaphores are certainly cool. just don't expect anybody else to see them when you want to make a turn Smile

lots of work to do, good score, though

this bus got a beltline down transplant and now looks like this

guess it no longer qualifies as a "real" 15w anymore but I don't care it's still a cool bus
btw in it's previous condition it had no title, no m-code plate, and no real hope of ever getting restored as it was pretty trashed below the beltline

Add this to the count, future of this one is unknown, it will definitely need beltline down. Possibly drip rail up, haha Shocked
