Ok, I know this is something simple but, I am trying to put the long bolt back in for that holds the alternator in place. Wth the plastic pipe seated snug in the lower metal pipe and the belt on the pulley, the bolt hole won't align.
I know it must be loosen this then drop that etc..
What is the process to get everything to align so that the bolt can go through?
Please? _________________ VW

I just did the same thing, real pain, first take the belt off, then you need to fiddle with it in different positions until you eventually get it. Sorry I can't be of more help. |

I don't have a suggestion other than keep everything loose
I just installed the GoWe$ty bracket and had the same problem so I thought it was the kit.
It sucks leaning over the engine bay for that long and I needed an adjustment so i could stand up straight. Sometimes the simplest jobs on these vans turn out to be the worst |

and the belt on the pulley |
That's probably what's effing you up. Try it without the belt. You're probably not doing anything wring, it's just a tricky, feelie job. _________________ 1986 Westy 2WD auto a.k.a. "The Old Girl"
