This is all i have done new park plugs, timing is good, i don't hear any exhaust leaks, i have a pertronix but i do change the hole distributor thinking that was that but not, crazy ahhh well, also new carburetor kit and this engine just keep doing the same when i release the gas pedal it just sounds like a action movie with flames and everything. Do anyone nows what else to check, thanks Confused

Not an expert here, especially with carbs, but my son's bug had the same issue after he replace his carb. The settings were too rich and cause backfires when he let off the gas. We readjusted his carb and no more backfire!

Backfire on deceleration usually means exhaust leak.

Thanks people, I will try this two things check trully my header and see if there are any leaks and also check this 30 carb.

i had 2 1/2 foot flames till i changed my exhaust cause it leaked so bad also used to start on fire at start ups

yup...just switched out my exhaust and no more backfire. hopefully you'll notice some performance differences too.
