I've got the engine out of my bus for some clean up and maintenance. I am ready to starting putting things back tougher and am seeking help per which of the two clutch discs I should use. This is the one that I have been using for the past six years and it has been working well.

But there seems to be some separation in the material as seen here:

This one has some rust on the springs but otherwise appears to be in good health:

The thickness is the same for both.

OR are these two discs no good and is it time for a new one?

Thanks,

Jeff

I'd stay away from the one with the check marks in the lining, you say the thickness' are the same, just what is that number?

A new disc costs less than $60.

I'm not trying to be a cheapskate - just seeking to learn. Thanks for the comments and advice. Am looking to source a new 210 mm clutch plate but so far have not found one for under $60. But that's not necessarily my goal.

Unfortunately the 210mm disc is the most expensive one out of all the Bus discs. Probably close to 3x that.

Ok, so you have the most expensive version of the available options…. Even at $185, that’s less than the tow truck is gonna cost. How much is your time worth to do it again?

And just know that a worn out clutch will inevitably fail at the worst time possible.
