Show me your Bay Window pulling your trailer finds. Include a brief insert of how you came about your trailer and cost if you like.
I will start it off.
My 1970 tin top Westy and my 80's Sears X-Cargo clamshell trailer I bought for 50 bucks less than a mile from my house.

EMM...OK..
But that's the smallest load I've towed with that jeep, and i only had to go about 200 miles with it. |

A Cherokee shouldn't have any problems. I've towed a trailer with my bay (and a couple of other cars at different points) with a very worn out 4.0L Falcon without issue. Worn out enough to have the occasional spider gear lock, massive slop in the driveshaft, a clutch that let go if you weren't super careful, and a poorly running motor with lots of metal in the oil.
I don't have a picture but I used to have a 7x5 trailer that the bay towed just fine. It was a filled in box trailer, maybe 4' high inside, with a couple of side doors up the front and double doors up back. It had cable and electric brakes. It was also intended to be towed offroad by a 4x4. It was really high up sitting on a pair of sunraysias (don't remember the diameter) and a nice chunky big pair of duellers for rubber. for most of the time I had it, it still had a loop hitch which was fun with cable brakes. the trailer would snake a little and constantly bang back and forth. of course when it was in the 'forth' part it would put on its brakes.
We added some heavy steel plate tabs to the top to tie stuff on to. worked really well.
The trailer was a weathered creamy browny sort of colour with the old Scouts logo barely visible on the sides. now I think about it, it was kind of a rat looker trailer.
I want to butcher our current 7x5 to make it as useful as that one. _________________ Vehicle: 1975 Special order delivery walkthrough panel based pop-top camper (LCA / Sunliner). Motor: Nippon 1.8L Single port Wasserboxer, Transmission: 3 rib 002. |

I didn't have a picture so I described the trailer I used to pull with it. And believe me it got pulled a long way. That was with the rather sickly type4 motor too. It's amazing how helpful a 002 can be for towing. _________________ Vehicle: 1975 Special order delivery walkthrough panel based pop-top camper (LCA / Sunliner). We got this trailer from a guy in Spokane Washington a couple of years ago. It cost more to ship it to the East coast than the trailer did, but I love it. When we camp it is like having a big trunk to carry and store all our stuff and the bus has a lot more room inside. I hardly notice any difference in power when we are pulling it. We used it on 4 camping trips in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New Hampshire last summer.

This is my 71 sears trailer. After 6 months of drewling over it I purchased it from a landlord for $75.00 when he moved back east. I've had it for at least 10 yrs. now. To many uses to list. To many pic's to post.
Here's a link to a site that has Allstate n Sears trailers.

Most of these trailers are pulled by VWs. |

does it count aas a trailer :
i did it to go in corsica, cause taking the boat and on little road it s more easy than a trailer, overall for u turn when you re on wrong way..... _________________ 69 westyfied from france

bus is still under resto but this is my Erde single wheel.
It was made by Erde of France and these were produced between 1950 - 1960 as far as I can find out. I've yet to see another in the UK,but would like to know if there is more.Through serching the web & sites such as http://www.singlewheel.com,I've only found pics of two others, they seem pretty rare.
I've painted it to match the bus, in as near to'Lotus white' I could find. although one day it will have a professional paint job.it has a frame & canvas hood..I've taken it apart, stripped it down to bare metal.I added the wooden sides for a more vintage look, and it even has a white wall tyre - how cool.
I've matched the jadet mudflap to those on the bus.all in all,I'm very pleased so far. I have to put the rear bumper back on & since these pics,I've fitted the hitches, carpeted the inside & added some discreet little LED indicators just underneath the rear.
The lights I used are a combined tail/stop/reflector repo of an old wipac motor bike lamp used on the bsa bantam. The paint work needs a little touching up.As you can see - I'm not the only one who likes it!!!
