Hey guys does anyone make the tubes for the fenders? I know that when gerson comes out with oval fenders from time to time, they have em on the fenders, but does anyone make the tubes outright?

Will these pre 64 pop outs fit a 59 no problem?

http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=1743879

I'm pretty certain they will, but I wanted to double check.

Here's a difference between 58 and 59 beetles. The 58 has crrugated steel tubing while the 59 has accordian aluminum. Anyone know where I can get some new?

Stupid question probably, but what is the vents below rear window go too? On the exterior. It is filthy in there from all the past decades dust. Didn't know if I could just flush it with water. Sorry again.

Add this to the list of differences between 58 and 59. In 58 there was a spacer welded to the rear seat support bar to hold it off the tunnel, In 59, along with the pressing for the rear seat back support and the mounts for the rear seat support bar, there is now a pressing in the bar itself for the tunnel support.

The one with the piece welded in is for '58. Part of the general trend to remove welded pieces and replace them with stamped bulges and what not for '59.

The car this was taken from was built during the second week of August 1957. It has several features left over from '57 like 2 bolt wheel cylinders. I would not be surprised if this change happened later in 58. When was your car built?

Here are some pictures of a black 58 with all original blue-grey interior (except headliner which is new)

Hope that helps.

Actually, this _could_ be a sign for this being a survivor. This is a European model with semaphores, and at least in Germany, all semaphore cars were legally required to be upgraded to later tail lights and blinkers some
Time in the 60s. So this would even explain the wrong position of the front turn signals. And it would explain the - from a today's point of view- strange location of the emergency signal switch right at the middle of the dashboard.

Although I'm with you that this car looks too good to be a survivor, it has some wear indeed (check front left fender on the top)
I'm in no way affiliated to this car, just wouldn't rule it out completely.
I mean it would be nice, wouldn't it? The asking price is through the roof however in my opinion....
