It sure looks good for having a fiberglass front end on it! _________________ https://imgur.com/user/FisherSquareback/posts

Yes. It looks good in pictures.
But, you don't belive, how much it's disturbing me
Where I can't buy inspiration? Again.
So little but, so much to do.
New upper bag mounts to rear end, modify front axle (again), fix original fenders, get and mount new floor matts etc.
I also had thoughts about re-chroming bumbers, headlight chromes etc.
But, since the paint job isn't perfect, why those chrome parts need to be?
And, if I drive +5000km's every summer, it's gonna get some dents,
rock chips etc.
Cars are made for driving, when I want it to be perfect, I do everything from the start.
Need to finish before summer! 2012 were bit boring without type 3.

Quick question. I'm trying to understand how you bagged the front beam. Did you cut it open and make a custom piece to fit on the torsion bars? Love the build and look of your fasty. |

It's a type 1 beam conversion. Punch Drunk and a few others have done this conversion too. Do a search for air bags, and lowest of the low in this forum to see more pics. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

Just spamming. Testing height with steelies.
Rear end is lifted 10-20mm, so I can move it bit easily.
Slowly, slowly.

Still alive. Slowly gathered motivation and parts.
Felgenfuchs.de delivered new Radinox lips and Gold plated bolts.
They fit quite nice.
Tires arrived too. 185/45-15 & 195/45-15 (not fitted yet)
Front wheels need to be, modified. +5 mm to offset would be perfect. Maybe...
Rear is 1mm from fender : Click

Your fastback is the exact same color as mine when I first purchased it. Your rims are almost exactly what I have, except mines are BBS. We pretty much have a clone. Hahaha However, i'll be painting mines black. _________________ 68 Fastback Build: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?p=5396323#5396323 |

Heres few pics taken by Juhapekka Haapoja Photography.
Drove it for two days. Works pretty nicely.
Airkewld airshocks need lots of pressure (~140psi or even more) to rise to max height.
Rear end needs about 5psi to drivable . But I usually drive with "2011 height". That requires only 35psi
Now I have one Viair 480c compressor with 5 gallon tank, 110-145psi pressure switch.
In winter, I will add another compressor and maybe switch to 165-200psi pressure switch.
Oh, and do hardlines to trunk
Tomorrow I have booked time for inspection. Bit nervous what "the man" says about bags... _________________ Vw Type 3 1600TL -69 |

Started planning summer 2015.
Having thoughts doing 1.5week trip to Sweden.
Visiting Bug Run 2015 @ Mantorp and week after that Gatebil 2015 @Mantorp
Before that, I definitely need to get another Viair 480c compressor, clean up trunk setup (compressors, tank, valves, etc), replace floor matts and trunk linings, and and and. _________________ Vw Type 3 1600TL -69 |
