What is so special about this one to be asking $27,000? The fact that it was previously owned by a GoWesty employee does not make the price go up by an extra $12,000. Maybe they need to explain better any upgrades?

The real question is why bother bringing a Vanagon to Hawaii.... Price is higher if you live on the island and want a Westy. Price should be lower if you have to transport that Westy off the island to mainland.

It reads to me as though the work was done in Hawaii by the new owner, who is not a GoWesty employee.

I like this ad and have been following it for weeks now. Launched at $13K, then dropped to $11K, then $9K, then $7500, then $6K earlier this week and now it is down to $5500. Eventually, it will become a reasonably priced late hardtop van. I've found my pricing strategy should I ever decide to sell my Westy; start with a sky high number. You can always come down, down, down, down...

Another Craig's list dreamer.

WANTED*** VW WESTFALIA - $5000 (CENTENNIAL (WILING TO DRIVE))
1984 volkswagen westfalia title status : clean

Hi, I have decided to ho climbing for a few years and I a want to buy a Westy to use as my base camp! My requirements are that it be:

Running (starts and I don't have to tow it home)
Titled (this is a must! No I lost the title or anything like that)
Clean (within reason)

Pretty much if I could shop vac the interrior and put about $600 into it in parts I want to see it. I am willing to drive anywhere in Colorado to find the right one.

As for other stuff: I would prefer a water cooled 1.9 engine, or Subaru conversation (I get that those are expensive), it must be the full camper or wolfsburg edition or 4x4, clean-ish interior, and you must be able to sign the title over to me at the time of sale.

I am willing to spend up to $5000

Please call, text me or email me with any possible vans! My number is show contact info I have cash and I want to buy one as soon as possible so let me know what's out there!

Volkswagen, VW, Westfalia, Westy, vanagon

Well, everybody knows that Subaru conversations are expensive, that is why I don't talk about it that much...

$700 was a steal it's fairly priced (in current market) at $2500 even requiring engine work.
but I'd fear that the paint is lipstick on a pig, I don't prefer freshly repainted vans.. of nearly any price.. it's usually a short lived top coat with leprosy lurking underneath.

but then again put a fuel pump on it and raise the price another 1k$

Yeah, it's a mouse house too. I looked at it tonight. I would have paid 700 to part it out with the diesel still in it.
