Lots of folks register only for the classifieds.
Nice looking van, provided the new paint isn't hiding iron oxide (and I can't get past the new gray carpet combined with new beige/brown upholstery and floor mats though ).
The big red flag to me is this: 1982 "Westy" Westfalia VW Camper, but VIN WV2ZB0255FH062502 . Perhaps a typo, but... _________________ ~Kamz

I figured it was an 85' when I first saw it. I think the 1982 is a typo.
I do have to admit mine is a brown interior that the PO put a gray carpet kit into. It actually doesn't bother me too bad (gray goes with everything). At the same time, I didn't pay FIFTY GRAND for mine. At that price I'd be expecting everything to be impeccable. This van, while "nice" is not impeccable. Little things like mismatching upholstery colors, no badging on the back (which screams cheap paint job to me), and even a drooping wiper. No attention to detail here. I wouldn't pay more than 16K for it.
Maybe his wife is forcing him to sell it so he said "Okay honey, I'll list it". Wife is happy he's at least trying to sell it, and he's happy that no one will even bug him with an offer with an asking that high _________________ Going to where the grass is bluer...

It could at least have hubcaps for that price. To me it looks like something that was thrown together from a collection of years. Of course, I can't make out the tag in the jam on my PC. Arse for every seat. _________________ ☮️ |

here is another good one...really makes me want to buy something from him.

this is why you should think twice about parting out a good Vanagon. Try to save it instead and sell it all together to someone you will. |

If the seller is asking $19k for a tintop Syncro, they will have to provide more than just 4 pictures. Does it have a locker? Any rust? etc....
I wonder what a regular tintop would really have to have to be worth $19k? A Syncro 16 with three knobs and a Subie motor? |

Two years ago I sold a very clean 91 Syncro base model, with rear locker, stock WBX, full power features and an upgraded Carat interior for $22k.
The van had 114,000 miles on it.
Not saying the 19k van isn't worth it, but trying to get that kind of coin off CL is a joke.
Best of luck with that. |

Just a quick complaint - If you are going to post a van on CL and then make a statement like "CALLS ONLY, all e-mails will be ignored", then how about posting a phone number in the ad so they can call you? Looks like I can't buy your van on a technicality. |

I can't imagine the lower half NOT being rusty under that rhino lining. I'd rather see pics of the underside of the van than a silly TV. _________________ 1977 Westfalia 2.0FI 4spd

And now they're trying on ExPo "sell asap, moving abroad. No Reasonable offer refused."

While at the same time he is selling this van because he is "moving", he continues to run a WTB ad for a Syncro. Hey buddy, it's already in your driveway. |

What the heck?! This is the second one in the last month or two I've seen with the tent installed UPSIDE-DOWN!
Not to mention referring to it as a weekender when it's a full camper, the bad rust under the kitchen, and a largely over-inflated asking price of $17900.
