I have tried all afternoon to install the 2 little spring clips that hold the throw out bearing in place with no luck. Is there a special tool? I cant spread them apart wide enough, they keep popping out of place when trying to fasten them to the grooves and holes etc. Any one have a trick to getting these things in place?

put one clip on the throw out arm groove, line up the t.o. bearing hole onto the clip on that side.
put the other clip in the other hole ( t.o. bearing)
use small pliers or needle nose to put spring on arm (groove)
not that hard..................

Be sure and put some safety wire on them because they can fall off.

I wouldn't do that.

Actually, the clips when installed rub and bind on the back of the bearing, (photo is bearing backwards after removing) This is a sure fire way to give me problems from premature clip failure, who the f designed these, a 5 cent clip is holding my clutch assembly hostage... I'd rather weld the assembly on with a u joint type housing, or fastened with 2 set screws or the like, anyone make something better?
