I am trying to get all the wires correct on the back of the speedometer on my 69 beetle.
Does anyone have a good picture of the back of the speedometer? I have looked at all the diagrams including the one on this site but, wiring is a mystery to me. Right now, the dimmer switch is not working, idiot lights, etc. The fuel guage and turn signal warning light are working ok.
I have two black wires that are not hooked up. The first one is coming from the lower left left side of fuse box connection where there is also a yellow/black wire coming out of the same connection.
The other black wire is top left of the fuse box with 2 black wires coming out of the same connection.
Sure would appreciate some help on this. I have been at it about 3 hours now.
Not even sure I have the other wires hooked up correctly.
Thanks

i downloaded my wiring diagram onto a flash drive. then went to kinkos and had them blow it up and print it out. i then had it laminated so that dirt and grease would not ruin it. i had it printed out approx. 36x36. it remains thumb tacked to my wall for reference. much easier to read and follow color codes.... |

My '71 is the same, so likely the '70 is too. |

Yep, this is a great site. The two pictures I got should help me to get the show on the road.
Thanks so much for you help.
