Installing the throttle cable. Seems like the PO pulled another weird fix on the throttle linkage. Looks like the flat piece is broken off. Nice keeper huh?

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

Also not sure what the swaged on piece is for on the cable or what the plastic holder? is next to the hole.

How should this look? I don't have another rig to compare it to.

thanks, RB

Guess this should read accelerator pedal problem. Looked at the microfich on Ratwell's site and the repair kit on Bus Depot's site but still can't quite get my head around how it should look. Think maybe the PO added the flat piece for a spacer? It's a new cable for the 72 by the way.

I'm not sure what the added stuff is for, the loop on the cable end just hooks into the hole all that stuff is bolted through (some cables need the loop pried open a bit).

My guess is that the PO tried to get by with a cable that was too short and added the piece to effectively lengthen it. Do you have the original carb set up or something different?

I have ACE dual Weber 40's with the CB linkage on this brand new 2L-Camper Special (Hasn't been started yet because of stinkin' little crap like this) I might have to use that keeper if this keeps up. Laughing

Any idea what that swaged on piece is on the cable in the left of the photo?

Thanks guys-RB

The swaged on piece is for the small end of the bellows boot that seals the end of the cable tube. The clip on the bottom of the floor is for a heater cable IIRC.
