Thanks, Tcash! The Vanagon cuffs aren't available around here and the dealers don't list them as current, so I ordered the ones shown in Buadaddy's post. They look shorter than the Vanagon cuffs, but have a flange on the end, so I'll hope they work. I'll post the resulys when the cuffs arrive. |
You can get away with running just the short rubber sleeves but its a much better fit when you use these in conjunction with the metal sleeves. _________________ Special Thanks to:

My sleeves are pretty much toast, but I've managed to fabricate 2 acceptable copies from dryer duct metal, using hand tools
First step was to measure and cut a rectangle of the metal, and bend the flange into it.
I clamped the rectangle to the control box inlet with a long-nose Vise-Grip.
Starting at the Vise-Grip, I squeezed the metal against the outlet with long-nose pliers, moving about 1/8 inch at a time. When I was done, the flange was pretty wavy. The picture was taken after I was done, just to show the positionng of the pliers.
I used the clamp from the accordian tube to hold the new sleeve tightly against the inner end of the control box outlet, and flattened the flange down with a flat-ended punch.
The end result isn't too pretty, but I think it'll do
