Ok...here's a few pics of our Silver Lake dune Trip. I'll post the better pics that my wife took this weekend when I get some time. These pics are what I had on my phone.

First off...a couple pics of the rail in the parking lot of the dunes:

Of course I had to buy the Michigan ORV and State Park Permit Stickers so I could go play (Michigan must make a FORTUNE on these stickers! $16.25 for one and $26 for the other!!):

And a great shot from the top of "Test Hill". Where we sat for awhile and watched other folks make their attempts to climb it:

Of course the sand on the back seat floor had to come home with me!:

And one of the 3 grenaded CV joints that made the fun come to a brief stop:

I'll get better pics up this weekend for ya!

Just to clarify: "sand is not dirt"
Sand can easily be whisped away.
Dirt sticks to things.
Doesn't count, never happened....yet.

Looks like fun! Any diagnostics on the CV's? Is it just travel or is the torque destroying them?

Thanks for the pics.

You're right about one thing riNR! Sand can easily be whisped away...which is why I like it!! And just to clarify....it was still off-roading, complete with broken parts! I know it's not your flavor, but it was still a lot of fun! Very Happy
By the way, did you ever make it out on the dunes yet? I know you were talking about a Silver Lake trip a couple months ago.

Tim,

The diagnostics were simple: Cheap CV's + high power = grenades! Laughing The race-ready joints I have in now should do the trick!

Im still looking to go. My buggies been parked for the last month while I tried to get cheaper insurance for it. The crooks wanted $3500 and I would not pay. I now only have off road plates and insurance. I'm taking it out for some fun tomorrow.
I'd like to plan my Silver Lakes trip with the buggy run that was supposed to happen in August.
Oh, and I'm just teasing. Its all good.
My pic. of Silverlake sugar coating after riding in non stop rain.

$3500????? Shocked Are you serious???? How long is that for? A year? That's ridiculous!! I didn't know you had off-road AND on-road plates. Never heard of that before.

A few people I know are planning a Labor Day weekend trip to Silver Lake. If you're interested, I'll let you know as I get the details on it.
