PostPosted: Mon Apr 19, 2010 1:15 pm    Post subject: L82 Silver White Paint Mix Code? Reply with quote

I went to my local Dupont paint dealer Saturday and they had NO listing for L82 Silver White.

I was trying to get a quart mixed for my bumpers and wheels on my '63 SC in their NASON brand acrylic enamel single stage.

Anyone have the paint mix code in NASON/DuPont?
thanks

Well, There has got to be a mix code for L82 to spray the bumpers and wheels on my '63 SC, but I just cannot find it and DuPont has been no help.
Darn it. anyone have any ideas?

The PPG # is 8251 according to info on this site, maybe they can cross-match?

Well, I found it in Spies Heckler, single stage enamel...$84 a quart!
But that's good quality paint.
I'll try a local PPG dealer on that old Ditler/ppg number too.
thanks

Yes, 82 is the color code and Silver White is the color name.

Here's the mixture from the Glasurit formula book:
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?p=145198#145198

99.6 parts 1051 wieB
00.2 parts 1052 schwarz
00.1 parts 1070 mittelblau
00.1 parts 1053 ocker

White
Black
Middle/Central Blue
Ocker

I'll be trying this shortly with my local paint supplier. I had them mix up some PPG paint code 8251 to paint my rims and they came out with a tan/yellow tint to them. Not happy and now i have to repaint all five rims......

I don’t know about the ml comment.
I’d click once on that mix image... it will open up in a new browser window.
Copy the text in the address field & send the image address to paint shop.
They’ll click on the link & the image will open in a web browser window.
