Doh my bad... I prolly bumped you out too only to get bumped out myself.
I just won this set of new take-offs on ebay yesterday. i was the only bidder. brand new, no miles, stored for 14 years. mint!
Paid $450 and $150 for shipping.
funny that 2 sets of brand new unused CLK wheels hit ebay within a week of each other... that NEVER happens...
I know many people luck out and find great sets on craigslist for $100-$200 but I havent found any in my area at all. Even though I have these coming I'll still be on the look out locally...

For future reference, the wheels being discussed here are MB Part #
2084010002
Also known as "Tolimans", but rarely called that. |

Got my lugs and drill bit from Chris too, nice to deal with. Hurry and get these bad boys on!
btw what did you plan on doing with the center caps? I ordered T3 aluminum ones but decided to go a different direction.. They'll be on the classifieds if you're interested |

I also found my set of CLK wheels. I have all five and will be mounting some BFG 215-70-16 tires for a Syncro build. I was tempted to spring for 225-75-16 but decided to be a bit more conservative this time. I hope I don't regret that.
Wheel lugs and locks ordered from Chris yesterday.

I went with 215/65/16 on my syncro, I think its a good balance, 215/70/16 would look a bit beefier, but with a stock 2.1, I decided to be more conservative. |

Found some wheels on CL and was wondering if anyone has seen or used these on their vanagon/westy. I have an 81' westy. Size of wheels are
15"x7", ET37 offset, 5x112 bolt pattern. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks all

Anyone able to confirm these caps? Are they indeed Toureg center caps? _________________ ----------------------------------------------------

Yeah I was bidding on those houstonphotog, until the price went stratospheric.
Why pay that much for used rims when you can buy the repainted ones for a couple hundred more?
I'm feeling like going with steel passat rims right now |

Only thing with the re manufactured ones is that their structural integrity may be compromised.. meaning they were bent at one point and had to be reshaped. I'd assume they would be prone to bend again but i'm not certain.
Maybe someone that has purchased re manufactured clk wheels before can say how their experience so far has been. _________________ Abel Longoria

you did good
225x75x16 wont work without modifications to rear trailing arm. And a stock motor wont have the power to turn them, as they are 16% taller than stock. That seriously raises your granny gear crawling speed too. All bad things, unless you modify your transmission and front differential to use different Ring And Pinions. You dodged a Bullet.
215x70x16 will already hit you with a 10% power penalty, and you will probably be wishing for a stronger motor, even with that size.
Keep in mind that a Syncro requires the spare tire to match, and be included in the rotation pattern. Therefore, you need a total of 5 CLK wheels, and 5 Tires. You will also need a solution to carry your spare tire, as it will not fit in the stock location. I recommend the RMW Rear mounted tire carrier.

This is not my listing, I just came across it. |
listing has one sentence that I want to highlight:
"These are light, and do not require adapters with a vanagon, or a Syncro vanagon. "
imo, though CLK rims do not require adapters, they do REQUIRE different Lug Nuts! Do NOT use the VW lug nuts with CLK wheels. Contact T3technique.com for correct lug nuts.
CLKs also require a spacer IF you want to use a CLK centercap.
If you want a VW centercap, contact T3technique.com _________________ My Soapboxes: Inflation; Handling; Gearing; Decoupling; Swepco |

They also require drilling the lug holes out to take the 14mm Vanagon lugs. _________________ '82 SyncroWesty, the first ever conversion.'06 Subaru 2.5L |

They also DO require a spacer for the front on 2wd, unless you have managed to find a really skinny tire, like 195/75. |

Sometimes, they require spacers. Sometimes, they do not. Mine did not. But I added 10mm spacers from T3 to the rear. Also, I got my lug nuts and drill bit from Chris. He's tops!

What is the minimum spacer thickness required to to fit the CLK center caps on the rear?
With this spacer, are the stock studs long enough? |
