Rain shouldnt affect the Yankees-Tigers,ya just push back a day...Giants -Cards are different, most relievers have a problem sweating a start, which is what the two innings ( or more) to be played will feel like.. the playoffs demand the 9 innings be played, the rain rule is not in effect..The Giants have the freak as a fifth starter on the roster..or Bochy could run Bumgardner on short rest for the mop up and pitch Lincecum as planned..could play hell...

The 8 teams with 93+ season wins are all gone with the exception of San Francisco and they have their hands full with St. Louis. Detroit and St. Louis managed 88 wins, but their best is right now when it's needed.

Been watchin this game all my life...the first time I saw the magic was the year my mother forgave baseball for taking her Dodgers from her...when Kranepool and Shamsky,Jones and Charles roamed Flushing Meadow and brought a Championship in '69...thats when I first saw it,when a group became a team, the sum of its parts..might be a little rash to say its happening again, when a club of good talent achieves greatness against the odds the way only baseball can do it...it just might be happening again..

I'm talking about when they led the Red Sox 3-0 and then lost 4 straight in the ALCS.

First it was Cincy..no doubt...then the Cards were a lock..now both clubs are watching the series. The Tigers have had 5 days to think while the Giants slogged it out...

Joe Buck mentioned the Melky thing about 100 times last night. It's the same crap they did 2 years ago but in the end the Giants pulled through and clinched.

I'm worried about that. It's good to have a couple days rest and get back to the top of the pitching rotation, but this is enough time for all that momentum to dissipate and get stale. I was pulling for St. Louis to win it in five, would have been a good rest for the Tigers and less time difference. Ah well, hats off to the Giants, should be a good series.
