It's a Type 3 engine, the serial number is on the top of the case. _________________ Glenn

Chassis number put it about September 1970 and engine serial number should be along case split line near fuel pump.......
THE 311 number on fan shroud is just the part number... _________________ “Fear The Government That Wants To Take Your Guns" - Thomas Jefferson.

Wasn't the first EFI type 3 1968? If the engine is all original it will be '67 or older. _________________ We had the stone age, the bronze age, the industrial age and now we are in the age of mass deception and mind control for corporate profit. (The mass media age) |

Yes, my Clymer shop manual for 1962-73 squareback & fastback corroborates this for US. (Maybe for North America too?)
So at the very least, this puts the dual carburetors at 1964-67. |

Just trying to remember what year type 3s went dual port heads. My sister had a '66 but I cannot recall the intake configuration. I should know too... something in the back of my mind tells me it was. _________________ We had the stone age, the bronze age, the industrial age and now we are in the age of mass deception and mind control for corporate profit.
