Nice Bus. I am Scott's brother. He told me about a friend who found a ncie westy back home.
You'll enjoy it. I bought my 72 back in NL 10 years ago. Still having fun with it everyday.
If you have any questions feel free to PM me.

Thanks Craig. Scott has already given me some good advice with it, and has helped me plenty with my 84 GTI. As you are in canada, what is the best site to order parts from? And I see you are in Ottawa, I just moved back from Oshawa and will be moving there in September again for school, are there any good VW forums for Ontario?
I like the name too, very fitting. From what I have found on this site, this is Marino Yellow, correct? The bus has been painted at some point but it looks like it was the factory color and it has L20A paint code with marinogelb written on it. Does the color seem like the factory shade to you guys? _________________ 1984 VW Rabbit GTI

Just spent some time cleaning the inside of the camper top, it was full of mildew. Got a good start on it, prolly needs another go though. Also took out some cabinets in the rear to get the last curtain out to be washed. We tried washing the front carpet but it came apart a bit, now I need to track down door cards and carpet to match.
When I was surprised with my bus:
I was very confused at this point as to why there was a VW bus at my house:
My gf who knew about it for months and managed to keep it a secret:
Floors are great:
Flue from the fridge, vent and city water hook up:
Electrical hook up, there is an outlet inside:
Of course the trailer hitch for all the heavy towing I will be doing:
Taillight needs replacing, hoping the parts bus is the same and has one:
Propane tanks for the fridge and stove:
Rear cabinets removed to get at the last curtain:
Inside of the pop-top before:
Starting to clean it:
And after, still going to go over some spots again but not bad:
Also did a quick cleaning of the top, prolly going to get it painted.
Before:
After:

Great Ontario Bus group:
In yahoo groups, join "the bug pack". Don't let the name fool you, it is a bus group. Lots of great people, tons in the Oshawa area too. Good advise and lots of local events/campouts. Great campout in Sept close to Oshawa if you are back in time! PM me if you want more info on the Bug pack. _________________ 66 Bus

Washed the cushion covers and put them back in:
Washed the carpet but it didnt hold up too well, came really clean though lol. Hopefully I can find a replacement.

Here is "Peachy the Parts Bus".
Awesome window paintings lol:
Found an awesome brass collection, pretty sure its worth thousands:
Also found a box of laminite in it lol:
I took the carpet out of my bus and put in the mat from the parts bus, one rip in it but in good shape. It will do until I can find a replacement carpet for mine.
Carpet:
Mat from parts bus:
Installed in mine:
I also swapped over both front door handles as mine were barely working, and replaced my broken taillight lens. _________________ 1984 VW Rabbit GTI

Today I decided to tackle the top, it needs to be painted but I want to clean it up in the mean time:
Bucket of water with some bathroom cleaner with bleach and a brush:
From this:
To this:
Changed taillight from the parts bus:
Also changed the faded and cracked headlights to the set from the parts bus.
Old:
New:
Thats it for today. _________________ 1984 VW Rabbit GTI

To bad those H4's were cracked, they are a way better lamp then the ones you took from the parts bus.
Nice clean up, the bus looks good. What about painting the bumpers white? |

I know, new H4s will be installed eventually, for now the GEs will do.
Bumpers and wheels are being painted white. Bumpers this weekend if the weather holds. Also have a white spare wheel cover for the front on the way, should look good when its all done. _________________ 1984 VW Rabbit GTI

Heres what I have been up to lately.
Installed an old deck I had laying around:
Swapped out speakers with some old ones from my Jetta, the holes were already cut:
Some speakers in the cold air ducts for the front. It will do for the summer:
Then started working on the bumpers:
Old paint off:
In primer:
Got the bumpers painted white, had a little mishap with one and need to redo it:
Need to re-do some wiring and do some trouble shooting to get the water pump and fridge working off 12 V. Removing interior to do wiring:
Continued removing interior to redo the wiring. Tomorrow Im trying to get the second battery wired up.
Hoping to get the wiring and auxiliary battery working tomorrow.
Recieved this from Amazon:
