I just wanted to ask a question, since I'm not familiar with the mid-engine setups. Is there an advantage to having a mid engine setup versus the conventional VW setup other than a more neutral weight bias front to rear?

IMO, weight bias and weight savings (no torsion housing or tunnel) are the only advantages.

The design on mine is a PITA to pull the trans to freshen it after racing.

My rail weighs 804 pounds. It helps it run quicker with a small engine.
