Hello,
Just wanted to throw a new topic into the Split Forum. I picked up my 23 window today!! Smile It has been sitting in a wooded area for nearly 30 years. I have some really cool photos of where it was found that I will try to post later this week. I know she's going to take some work, but I'm excited about having it! Look for more photos and progress (eventually) when I get some time.

Thank you! A friend of a friend found it. Believe it or not, the bus traded hands four times before getting to me. The first guy didn't know what it was and was going to crush it! Shocked The second two guys knew what it was and thankfully stopped him. There is some rust in the floors, drivers belly pan, nose of roof/fresh air vent, a tad bit in the lower nose and the drivers side jack point and outrigger need to be replaced as the wheel fell off while it was being extracted.. Mad I wasn't there for that.. but the area looked rusted anyways. Rolling Eyes The hinges will all need work as well. The photos don't show that the driver's side door is off.

All the seat frames "were" there, but when they were picked up off the ground, they fell apart, so I have the front seats and a partial amount of the back seat. "When is someone going to make repos??"

The old girl needs some work, but a solid start none-the-less.

Very nice find. Sure beats my $500 '67 d/c I just picked up. If you don't mind saying what did you give for it?

I got it at a decent price I think. I hate to throw out numbers so we'll just say for what it is, and the month of work it took to get it, I got my money's worth.

A bit grody but straight. I'm so glad you saved it. It should have all the transition '63 stuff on it. Don't you wonder how something like that got parked and left for dead back then. It even looks like OG paint.

Thank you Guys! The outer panels look pretty good, just needs belly pans, floor work and other misc rust repair. I worked on "un-digging" the motor today and cleaning out the passenger area. I will post pictures so you can see! Laughing haha.. The amount of "CRAP" in the engine compartment was MIND BLOWING!! However, I think all that crap helped preserve the metal in the compartment.

You're right about that engine compartment- looks like all sorts of l'il woodland critters were up to all kinds of shenanigans in there.
Either that, or it was converted to run on leaves and sticks.

Great find bro, that bus looks supersolid. Best of luck with it.

Am I the only who sees this?

Is grody spelled with one or two "o"s ? I love that word!

Cool find, that engine compartment shot is amazing! And what the hell happened to all the glass? Looks like most or all of the windows are gone!
